Little white pumpkins have become my favorite canvas around this time of year, in case you haven’t noticed. I go to the store and buy a bag of ’em and sit and stare at them until I decide what my plan is. This year, I just kept thinking of these patterns and how much fun I had making them, so I decided to give the pumpkins the same treatment. Good decision, me.
And hey, you can do this to any size or color pumpkin you want! The best part? You don’t have to do that thing where you hollow out the pumpkin guts and get your hands all sticky. You’re welcome.
Materials
- small white pumpkins (or your favorite kind of gourd!)
- paint pens
- optional: craft paint and paint brush
Make Time: 5 Minutes per Pumpkin
The beauty of this one is that there aren’t any steps to follow, and no right or wrong way to do it! So I’ll save you the trouble of reading the instructions and just say: go to town. Dream up a pattern and draw it on those bad boys with a paint pen like your life depended on it. Or just pop open a bottle of wine, turn on Hocus Pocus, and draw your patterns while you sing along to “I Put a Spell On You.” Yeah, that sounds way better.
Have fun! xoxo
These pumpkins are super cute! You did a great job!

Painting pumpkins is actually one of my favorite arts and crafts project! I’d rather do that than carve them any day! I like your patterns to painting, they’re so charming!
