love a Halloween costume. But I totally understand that sometimes a costume is just… much.

Especially if you’re a mom. I’ve been hearing this year about a thing called a “mom costume” at Halloween, which is basically when you just put on a black shirt and cat ears or something like that. Hahaha!

I’m sitting here picturing an over-it mom sticking ears on her head because her kids want her to dress up and she has just had it. Well, if you’re looking for a mom costume, or a no-costume costume for you our your family, make Halloween shirts!

A Halloween T-Shirt: The Perfect Mom Costume

I love these Halloween t-shirts for so many reasons!

They’re super cute and you can wear them the whole month of October, any time you need to show a little Halloween spirit.

They also take just a few minutes to make, especially because I saved the project in Cricut Design Space so that you can upload it and use it easily.

And the best part? You don’t have to make a new one next year.

But! If you’re into costumes, it just so happens that we have a library full of insanely cool costume ideas. I took a second to pull a list of my faves:

Supplies You’ll Need

Make Time: 30 Minutes

  1. To make this project super easy for you, I’ve uploaded our designs to the Projects section of the Cricut Design Space — just search for “Halloween Shirts from Lovely Indeed” and you should be able to upload our designs into your Design Space.
  2. Choose your designs and resize them as appropriate for your shirts. I used an adult tee from Michaels, and a couple of my kids’ baseball tees that I had laying around. Prepare your design for cutting.
  3. Load your iron-on vinyl foil onto the cutting mat, putting the shiny color side down. The shiny side is actually the backing to the iron-on material.
  4. Important! Make sure that you mirror your image and select the Iron-On setting before you cut. Now go for it!
  5. Weed out the excess iron on and heat up your iron. Cut the designs apart with scissors if you cut out multiple designs. Place them foil side up on your shirts and make sure they’re level.
  6. Use an iron on the hottest setting to iron down the foil, pressing down firmly on all areas of the iron-on for at least 20 seconds, keeping the iron moving.
  7. Carefully pull away the liner from the foil. If the edges of your foil start coming up with the liner, set it down immediately and repeat the ironing process. Remove all liners completely.

  1. I loved these last year and finally got a cricut. Looked these back up and it looks like they aren’t in Design Space any longer? Any chance you’ll have them up again for this Halloween? Thanks for all of your fun ideas!
