Why Monthly Journal Sheets?
Around the start of each year, I see a lot of that energy and excitement about new possibilities. Which I love! But I also see a lot of “new year, new me” messaging.
I just don’t buy it. You are, and always will be, exactly the version of you that you should be. New or not.
The part that I do love about a new year, though, is the idea of a fresh start. It’s a breath of fresh air and a chance to reevaluate our perspectives and intention.
It also provides a beautiful opportunity to dream. To look inward and decide what you really want, and what goals you hold in your heart.
Map My Month
So instead of just getting into that mindset on January 1 and then letting it fade a few weeks later, these Map My Month pages have been like a monthly fresh start.
They’ve kept us intentional and present, month by month, throughout the year.
Each month, on the 1st, I create and share a free downloadable guided worksheet. (You can download it at the end of the post.)
The monthly prompts will be the same, but we’ll focus on a different prompt each month and really dive deep on one of them. It’s a way to look at each question in a new way, and perhaps discover something you didn’t realize about yourself.
I’m so excited to see how our responses shift and change over the course of the year.
December’s Map My Month Focus: Adding Joy
With November’s Map My Month, we considered the things that bring us joy, and chose three things to jot down that make us feel good from the inside out.
This month, our focus putting that joy into action
As you work on your Map My Month worksheet this month, give a little extra thought to the portion that asks: How I’ll incorporate one of these joyful things this month.
As you consider it, think about those joyful things and how they fit into your life. How could you incorporate one (or all!) of them into your every day?
Life is too short to ignore the joy, friends. So don’t hold it back. Share it with yourself and with others every chance you get.

Here’s what to do next. Get yourself into a mindset that’s open, intentional, and ready for possibility. Go through the rest of the prompts on the worksheet, using as much time as you need.
If you plan on participating in Map My Month each month, I suggest you get a binder or a folder to keep all of your worksheets in one place. You can look back at your progress and reference past months’ Maps to see how your year is progressing.
You could even add it to your Intention Blueprints binder if you did those last year!
