Let’s give it up for April!!

A new month, fresh vibes, and a chance to reset. And we really get to see the power of Map My Month in action!

If you’re new to Map My Month, keep reading! And if you’ve been following along, participating, and (I hope) loving it, welcome back.

Psst — if you love this idea be sure to check these out too:

Why Monthly Journal Sheets?

In January every year, we are filled with energy at the idea of new possibilities and commitments. We set goals, we set intentions, and more.

Which I love! But it’s also a slippery slope into that whole “new year, new me” attitude.

And here’s the thing.

Opening up a new calendar doesn’t make you a new you. You are the same wonderful you that you have always been. You don’t need a new you!

What a new year does, though, is to provide the mindset of a fresh start. It feels like a book with unwritten pages, and the chance for you to create the story for yourself.

It also provides a beautiful opportunity to dream. To look inward and discover the things that you really want, and what types of goals you hold in your heart.

So instead of just getting into that mindset on January 1 and then letting it fade a few weeks later, these Map My Month pages are like a monthly fresh start.

It’s an opportunity to sit down and clear your head every month, to really feel that openness of a refreshed vision.

Each month, on the 1st, I create and share a free downloadable guided worksheet. (You can download it at the end of the post.)

The monthly prompts will be the same, but we’ll focus on a different prompt each month and really dive deep on one of them. It’s a way to look at each question in a new way, and perhaps discover something you didn’t realize about yourself.

I’m so excited to see how our responses shift and change over the course of the year.

April’s Map My Month Focus: Serving Others

In March’s Map My Month we focused on your serving others. The idea of looking outside ourselves, decentering our own thoughts and desires, and exploring what that looks like for us.

This month, our focus is a positive contribution in our own lives.

As you work on your Map My Month worksheet this month, give a little extra thought to the portion that asks: Something that currently contributes to my life in a positive way.

As you consider it, explore the parts of your life, large or small, that make a positive difference for you. This could look like many different things.

It could be a friend, neighbor, or family member. It might be a doctor or health care worker that helps you stay well. Perhaps it’s a t.v. show that you love, or a habit that you do daily.

There’s no wrong answer here (or on any of our Map My Month sheets!), so excavate your life for those little or big things that make your days better.

And after you recognize what it might be, consider the ways in which it is a positive contribution. Also consider how you could lean in to that, pay it forward, or give thanks where thanks is due.

Here’s what to do next. Get yourself into a mindset that’s open, intentional, and ready for possibility. Go through the rest of the prompts on the worksheet, using as much time as you need.

If you plan on participating in Map My Month each month, I suggest you get a binder or a folder to keep all of your worksheets in one place. You can look back at your progress and reference past months’ Maps to see how your year is progressing.

You could even add it to your Intention Blueprints binder if you did those last year!

If you love these (or even if you don’t! or if you find them challenging!), I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Prompts like these can encourage us to think in new patterns or explore new ideas. It’s a great exercise to stay intentional and purposeful with our days.

Enjoy! xoxo
