It’s so exciting when you have a chance to reimagine a space that’s not working for you into something that not only suits your needs but is an aesthetic upgrade!

This bathroom in our home studio used to be a small powder room, and the entirety of the bathroom occupied the space that is now the shower. It was tiny!

Now this room is spacious, airy, and a very cool take on a black and white tile bathroom.

I’m excited to share sources and ideas with you!

Black and White Shower Tile

In planning this bathroom space, I liked the idea of high contrast without being too jarring.

I love hex tile, and thought it could be a fun thing to incorporate here as a kind of focal point, grounding the room.

Some black hex tile found its way into my head and I couldn’t get it out!

So we went with an all-black tile floor, pairing it with white subway tile in the shower and white walls.

This room was renovated about eight years ago, and the combination still feels fresh and new today!

Not to mention that black floor tile is fantastic for hiding imperfections and making the space look cleaner than it is. The dark grout on the black hex tile helps as well.

Hardware and Faucets for a Black and White Bathroom

The Delta Trinsic collection had the perfect brushed gold finish that I thought looked really cool with the black and white bathroom tile.

Throughout the space, you’ll see all of the following, in Champagne Bronze.

A few other pieces really pull the space together!

A round mirror with a gold edge gives just a little extra pop of metallic interest.

The black sconces have been discontinued but these are very similar.

And finally, it felt important to me to introduce just a bit of color into the space using textiles! So we brought in a bright peach color in a fun stripey patterns with the towels.

  1. OH MAN I’m so jelly of that seat in your shower!!! “Oh myyyy being fabulous is soooo tiring I think I’ll just have a seat. Here. In the shower…” Totally have had my eye on that bunny ears clock for like ever!

  2. When I plan a renovation, I always start by reading rebath reviews of the companies I want to buy from. For example, I always pay attention to detailed reviews, where they describe not only the quality of the work, but also the adherence to deadlines and budget. If people note professionalism and attention to detail, this is a good sign. But if there are stories with shortcomings or extended deadlines, then it is better to look for an alternative.

  3. Loved how this studio bathroom blends style with smart space use those small design decisions really make a difference. One thing I’ve learned is that planning around moisture and layout early saves a lot of hassle later, especially in humid areas. I came across some practical insights on that here https://bathroom-remodelingconroetx.com/, it explains timelines and material choices in a very realistic way. Definitely helpful if anyone’s thinking about a similar upgrade.
