Cocktails for Holiday Parties

While you’re getting inspiration for your holiday cocktails, be sure to check these out too! I pulled a few of my favorites from our archives for you.

Whether you love a simple, classic mulled wine, or something more exciting like a bourbon apple cider, there are so many delicious Christmas cocktails to choose from.

Be sure to pin your favorites so you can find them easily when you’re ready to mix up a cocktail!

What’s In a Cozy Cab?

All the best stuff, that’s what!

Rich bourbon is accented by freshly squeezed lemon, a classic combination.

Add a little simple syrup to for a sweet note. And the thing that pulls it all together?

A floater of your favorite cabernet sauvignon. Yum!

Ingredients and Supplies

Cocktail Shaker. This one comes with a jigger so that you can easily measure out ounces of liquor and mixers.

Ice. Shown here, I used simple ice from our refrigerator’s ice maker. You don’t need anything fancy! But if you’d like an elevated look, you can shake the cocktail in the shaker with regular ice and then pour it out of the strainer top over a large ice ball (use a mold like this one).

Bourbon. My go-to bourbon when mixing a cocktail is Bulleit, but you can use your favorite!

Simple Syrup. Here’s a very simple recipe for making your own simple syrup. You can also buy it to skip a step!

Lemon. Always use freshly squeezed citrus juices for the best cocktails.

Cabernet Sauvignon. For this recipe, no need to get a fancy bottle! Any low- to mid-range cab will do.

Garnishes. I used a slice of lemon and some fresh pomegranate seeds to garnish our Christmas cocktail. Other ideas could be a fresh sprig of rosemary, or even a Luxardo cherry.
