I have this weird relationship with jewelry, where I truly love it and love wearing it, but also kind of forget about it. I just forget to accessorize whatever I’m wearing, so usually I have a really great collection of jewelry that just stays in my closet. I’m trying to remedy that and be better about letting it see the light of day, but in the meantime, I have my tried-and-true pieces that I literally wear day in and day out. I get questions about them quite a bit, so here they are, with the story behind each one!
My Wedding Set People ask to see my wedding ring all the time, because it’s a little quirky. We found it at Catbird in Brooklyn, and it’s made by Bittersweets NY. Both the engagement ring and the wedding band are cast from twigs, so they look like little tiny branches winding around my ring finger. I don’t think Bittersweets makes the engagement ring design any more, but this is the closest version. I can truly say I’ve never seen anything like it on any other hand that I’ve come across, and I love that. (That photo below is from our honeymoon, when the rings were super clean and spankin’ new.)
Diamond Baguette This beauty was on my wish list for the longest time, and now it lives on my finger every day! Ryan and a baby Henry gave it to me a few years back on Mother’s Day, and I can still remember exactly where I was sitting when they came in the room to hand it to me. Henry was so excited. It’s just a thin little gold band with a sideways diamond baguette, but it’s perfect for stacking, moving around, and daily wear. You can find it here.
Four Gemstones Ring About a year ago I was on a solo work trip to Austin, and I was missing my family fiercely. I wandered into the Eliza Page shop and found this little stacker ring with four tiny diamonds. I tried it on (a perfect fit), and somehow it made me feel like I had a little connection to my family, like I could always keep a reminder of them on my finger. I wear it every day, sometimes in place of my wedding set.
Letter Necklace I had wanted one of these forever, ever since we started a family. I decided to wait until our family was complete to get the initial necklace, so that I could get the initials of my three favorite people in the world. (Although the designer gives you the option to send your necklace back in and add letters if needed.) I just abut never take it off, so much so that I kind of forget I have it on. It’s delicate and just kind of catches the light right around the neck and collarbones, which is so pretty.
And that’s that! My every-day, leave-’em-on-overnight, always-have-’em-on pieces. Looking back at this post I’m starting to realize that I’m maybe a little overly sentimental? Ah well. I’m okay with that. 😉 Do you have any jewelry that you wear every single day? Why is it special to you? Share in the comments! xoxo
P.S. My favorite customizable jewelry for moms! Awesome holiday gifts right here, gang.
Parabéns 🙂
I’m the same way with my jewelry! I forget to accessorize with anything other than my wedding rings and maybe a pair of earrings. If you have a trick for remembering to wear your other jewelry, feel free to share! Do you have a link to your necklace? I’ve been looking for something like that for a while.
Hi Allie, thanks for catching that! We updated the post with the link. <3
