How to Spruce Up Your Backyard on a Budget

Pink Flamingos

When we moved into our home last year, the backyard was an enormous lot of packed dirt. Mr. Lovely worked and worked and worked and now we have lawn and plants and things growing! It’s been so fun getting our backyard into shape and we have a ton of ideas that we’ll be sharing with you all summer so you can do the same. But for reals, all of this backyard mumbo jumbo can get pricey.

So! I thought it could be cool to put together a little inspiration for sprucing up your backyard on a budget. It can feel overwhelming and totally out of reach to refresh such a large space, but really all you need are a few touches to make your yard feel new again. I’m loving all of these colorful, fun pieces from AllModern for summer — and you can get this whole look for under 250 buckaroos. Pick and choose your faves and it’ll be even less!

Spruce Up Your Backyard on a Budget

Lantern. Yellow planter. Green planter. Cushion. Garden stool. Mat. Flamingos.

Isn’t it funny that pink lawn flamingos used to be totally tacky and horrible and now they’re having a heyday? I love it! I think they’d look so fun sticking out of planter pots filled with succulents. And I’m such a fan of the pattern on that mat — the black and white is such a great combo with a few colorful pops. Add a new cushion to your backyard seating and throw a lantern on your patio and you’re good to go!

So are you spending lots of time in your backyard this summer? Can’t wait to share the rest of what we’ve got coming up, and I hope it inspires you to get outside and enjoy! xoxo

This backyard summer series is brought to you in partnership with AllModern.
