Aren’t besties just the best?
I love thinking of ways to celebrate friendship, big and small. And while celebrating Valentine’s Day with your boo is great, celebrating the love of friendship is just as worthwhile!
Taylor Swift may think she has the market cornered on beaded bracelets, but we’ve been making these babies since we were, well, babies.
(Remember these?)
So let’s celebrate bestiehood with some pretty DIY Valentine’s Day gifts for your gal pals.

Beaded Bracelets for Valentine’s Day
I love the simple “bestie” wording on these two bracelets! It’s kind of like a modern version of one of those best friends necklaces, in the shape of two halves of a heart.
But if the phrasing “bestie” doesn’t ring true for your and your galentines, here are a few more ideas of things to spell out on your bracelets.
- soul sister
- kindred spirit
- u + me
- love u
- heart friend
- lylas (love you like a sister)
- friend
- queen
There are so many possibilities! A few more ideas:
Spell out an inside joke or something you two always laugh about.
Include some favorite song lyrics.
Spell her initials, or the initials of someone she loves.

Supplies You’ll Need
Alphabet Beads. I like this set because it comes with a variety of color combinations (including the black and white with gold lettering that you see here).
Decorative Beads. This set has a really pretty combination of faux pearls and gold beads that gives the beaded bracelets a very elevated look.
Clear Elastic Jewelry String. Clear jewelry cord is great for this project because it disappears behind the beads and really lets the beads be the star of the project. I also love the stretch that this cord provides.
Scissors and Glue. I like to add a dab of E6000 to secure the knots on the bracelets.
Make DIY Valentine’s Day Beaded Bracelets
- Cut a length of cord to about 7-8 inches.
- Choose your beads and lay out the phrase that you’ll be spelling out.
- String the letter beads onto the cord, placing them in the center. (If you like, you can add an extra decorative bead in between each letter.)
- Now add beads onto either side of the letters. You can make them symmetrical and create a pattern, or just add beads at random.
- Once you’ve added enough beads to reach around the circumference of your wrist, tie the two ends in a double knot. Slowly and carefully pull the knot taut and trim the ends. Add a dab of glue to secure the knot.
Making DIY Valentine’s Day Gifts for Friends
These bracelets look great stacked, so don’t be afraid to make a few of them!
You could also gather all of your friends together for a galentine’s day crafting session and make these together!
Set out some snacks and bead trays and let everybody have a blast making bracelets for each other or themselves. Have fun! xoxo
