Why make a Valentine’s Day backdrop? Why not?! This incredibly simple idea comes together in minutes and helps create festive photographic memories.

We haven’t done a photo backdrop in forever! I was pumped to put together a quick and easy little Valentine photo backdrop for some family photos.
Henry wasn’t feeling it on this particular day, so we took some sweet photos of Mags on her first Valentine’s Day, and just had a good time making memories and being creative together.
I love this backdrop idea because it’s incredibly easy, affordable, and comes together in minutes! Perfect for busy families, photographers who need something simple and quick, or retail spaces looking to activate a blank wall.

Supplies You’ll Need
Supplies are incredibly minimal for this project, which is why I can’t recommend it enough!
Materials
- 6″ x 6″ cardstock squares (we got a pack of assorted shades of pink at Michaels)
- Removable Glue Dots
- scissors

How to Make a Valentine’s Day Backdrop
Make Time: 10 Minutes
- Start with a blank wall. Decide where the upper right and lower left corners of your backdrop will be. Place a glue dot on the back of two squares of cardstock and stick them to these corners to outline your backdrop.
- Start filling in the wall. You can work in an ombre pattern like we did, or mix colors all together. We just placed the colors in a pixelated formation, leaving an empty space at random.
- Once you’ve filled it in, step back to assess and check for any spots that may need adjusting.

Then just snap away! I love this backdrop because it looks great from all angles. You can pull your photos out for a wider shot or come in close, and either way the backdrop makes fantastic photos.
It would be perfect for a Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day party — you could snap photos of your guests or let them do their own thing with their smartphones. So cute! xoxo
