Have I got an Easter project for all of you nerds out there! Addicted to your iPhone? This one’s for you. Decorate yourself some Easter eggs that really speak to what’s down deep in your heart. Ya know, stuff like texting and location settings. The important things. But seriously, tell me these don’t make you chuckle! Let’s make some icon Easter eggs, y’all.
- Avery Clear Address Labels
- printable download
- hard boiled eggs
- your favorite egg dye OR spray paint
- computer and printer
Make Time: 1 Hour
Step 1: Color your Easter eggs! You can use your favorite egg dye, or do like we did and spray paint those suckers! I’ve never spray painted eggs before this project but I love it now. They come out so smooth and with such a saturated color. Just be sure to spray light coats and do it in a well-ventilated area. And obviously, if you use spray paint, these eggs are not edible after decoration. Duh.
Step 2: Download the file right here. Note: This is a special file meant to work with Avery’s Design & Print Online platform, so don’t fret if it seems like they didn’t download properly! Just carry on to the next step.
Step 3: Open the files at avery.com/open.
Step 4: Choose the file and print on the Avery Clear Address Labels (product #18660). If you’d like to print more than one set, adjust the print settings to have the icons repeat on more labels.
Step 5: Use scissors to trim around the edges, very close to each icon.
Step 6: Once your eggs are dry, peel the icons off of their backing like stickers and gently stick them to the eggs.
Which one is your fave?! I don’t know why, but I’m totally partial to the mute button egg. It’s like, “Shhh. I’m focusing.” Ha! And btw, don’t we live in a weird world? A totally weird world where these symbols have become as common as the written word and we all know exactly what they mean. I feel like kids know these symbols before they can actually read these days. Crazy! But I digress. Maybe next we should do app eggs! Tiny little Instagram and Snapchat icons. I’ll get right on it! xoxo
