Renovation Update // Trusses and Tubs!
Things are happening! We’re a couple of months into this renovation and if I had to guess I’d say we’re about smack in the middle, with all that we have left to do. This week we got a roof over our new bedroom and you can see it starting to take shape. That photo above is the new master; the big window will have a window seat under it and built-in shelves on either side, one side with the fireplace. The vault in the ceiling is part of the design. There’s going to be a slightly vaulted ceiling, with a few large exposed beams running through it.
In bathroom land, we got both of the tubs in the bathrooms and I’m already counting down the days until I can jump in this one in the master! Although I’m equally excited about the kids’ tub, but that’s mostly because I’m tired of giving them showers or baths in our laundry room sink. But that’s a story for another day.
Aside from that, one of the next steps is to start planning the new walk-in closet, which is framed out in the picture below. It’s gonna be mine (alll miiiiiine!!! evil laugh) so I can kind of outfit it however I want. I’m thinking one wall of hanging, drawers under the window, and shelves and a vanity on the other wall. Thoughts? Am I missing anything?
In other news, we’re still sleeping in the studio and that’s getting a little old. But as my mom always says, you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. And we are definitely in the broken egg phase of this whole deal. And now enough about trusses and tubs! Go have yourself a gorgeous weekend, kittens! xoxo
Do you have plans for shoe storage? Or do you really just need a pedestal and spotlight for #thoseyellowshoes?
Yes THAT. Definitely that.
I was looking at this post and realized you guys have done lots of construction. Any recommendations for a grear contractor?
