I’m feeling particularly summery these days! Seems like everyone I know is off on a summer adventure, vacationing here and cruising there! I’ve been itching so badly to take another Carnival cruise with the kiddos, but we’re choosing to wait it out until Maggie is just a little older. But that won’t stop me from dreaming! So in honor of summer vibes and cruise ship dreams, I put together a colorful, happy DIY that we can enjoy right here on land. Take it to the pool, take it to the beach, take it on a cruise if you’re that lucky — this pompom beach towel is ready to party!

Materials

  • plain bath or beach towel
  • pompom trim in various colors and sizes
  • oversized yarn pompoms
  • permanent fabric adhesive
  • scissors

Make Time: 30 Minutes (Plus Drying Time)

Step 1: Place a thin line of permanent fabric adhesive on the edge of one of the short sides of the towel. Glue down one strip of pompom trim.

Step 2: Place another line directly above it and glue down a contrasting piece of trim.

Step 3: Continue gluing strips of trim until you’re happy with the pattern!

Step 4: Make your pompom tassels. Use permanent fabric adhesive to glue the large pompoms onto the ends of a small piece (approximately 4″) of trim.

Step 5: Fold the piece of trim with pompoms on it in half, and glue it to the corner of your decorated towel. Repeat on all four corners.

Take this baby on your summer adventures! I can just imagine this cutie spread out on a deck chair for a day at sea. Sigh. A girl can dream, right?! So where will your summer adventures take you? xoxo
