diy framed table number

|

Here we go!  Let the DIY projects commence.  Here’s my first entry to the DIY contest over at Ruffled.  I decided to try out a style of table number for the wedding reception!  I did a little variation on my framed birdie, and got an old encyclopedia from Goodwill.  Then I cut out numbers and letters, and mounted them on a page from the encyclopedia.  (For this project, I used the page that defines “love.”  Awwwww…)  I framed them in a little black pre-matted frame, and voila!

I’m thinking that for our purposes, it might be a little too sleek and formal for the vibe that I envision at our reception.  But I sure do love it, and it was a ridiculous piece of cake to make!

Also, don’t forget to check in every so often over at my 30 by 30 list — I’m already making progress!  And if you’ve got ideas, I’m still pondering over what number 30 should be.

xoxo

  1. I love how in the first picture, the frame is next to the actual encyclopaedia (yes ‘pAEdia’), and the flowers. I love the kind of ambiance it creates.

  5. this is soooo beautiful. maybe for your wedding you could change up the color scheme a bit, but I really like the dual frame effect. PS if you feel like having your wedding televised and having some fun, mu bff had her wedding filmed by TLC for the show four brides. If you win, then you get a FREE honeymoon. How’s that for incentive?

  7. We loved this idea so much, however since our daughter is a singer, we put used, B&W sheet music behind the numbers in the frames. Everyone ooo-ed and ahhh-ed over them! Thanks for this GREAT idea!
