Family trip to LA

I can’t resist an adventure. I just can’t! So when the team at Last Minute Travel came to us and asked if there was anywhere we wanted to get away to for a quick trip, we jumped at the chance. And where better than one of our favorite cities in the whole world: Los Angeles!

We scooped up the kids and found a perfect room at the Andaz in West Hollywood through Last Minute Travel. You can find killer deals on travel – everything from hotels to planes to cruises and more. (Quick side note for you guys — if you join the Last Minute Travel Club you can get even better discounts, and it’s free to join with the code ChelseaBFF! Head right over here to do that.) The Andaz actually ended up being a perfect spot, right on the Sunset strip but totally easy to do with the kids. The rooftop has a gorgeous view and the kids didn’t want to leave the little cabanas. Henry called it his “hideout.” And these views!!!

Our first night in town was pretty special, because I took Henry to see his first Broadway tour at the Pantages Theatre. A friend of ours is in the cast of Wicked and Henry and I had a little date to go see the show. It’s a pretty big show for a little kid to grasp, but he did so great. And my heart was so full watching him take it all in, and hearing the little questions he would whisper. Can’t believe we’re already to the point where he’s big enough to join us for theatre adventures!

The next day it was on to the happiest place on Earth, because there’s nowhere better than Disneyland at Christmas! We met up with friends and did every single festive thing we could inside the parks. Maggie always wants to meet Minnie and all the princesses. Henry wants to do It’s a Small World. And they both love Cars land. So we did it all. Mags even had a sleepy encounter with Mickey while she was napping in the stroller. 🙂 One of my favorite stops was the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in California adventure. Santa was hanging out and taking pictures, and there was cookie decorating for the little kids. And also, in California Adventure they serve alcohol and they had these seasonal warm bourbon cider cocktails that were SO. GOOD. So Ryan and I sipped on those while the kids were running around and it was just magic. It snowed at the end of the day on Main Street in Disneyland and it just couldn’t have been more happy.

The next morning we had a slow breakfast in the hotel (where Henry discovered a deep love of tea and bacon) and headed home. It was just a perfect little getaway and we were so happy to get to make some holiday memories together. Next time you’re looking for a quick trip check out Last Minute Travel — I hope it helps you find a wonderful adventure! xoxo
