What's Your Vote for Vacay?

Tulum Travel Guide

I posted about this on Instagram a while back and we still need your help because we’re so dang indecisive! It’s our year for a big anniversary trip and we’re having a heck of a time figuring out where to go. We need your help!

So here’s the deal. We’ll be bringing the kids with us, which means we’ll have an almost-three-year-old and an 11-month-old. We’ll be traveling probably during August-ish. Right now we have a few different ideas: an Alaska cruise // a resort somewhere easy in Mexico like Cabo // New Orleans // a low-key Hawaiian island (Kauai?). Now that I said it out loud, I’m wondering if New Orleans would be miserable in August. Or miserable with kids. Anyone have any experience there?

OR! If you have another great idea for a place that would be fun with kids but also fun for parents, we’re all ears. I’m just so pumped to be mobile again now that the kids are bigger, and we want to adventure any chance we can. So hit us with your recommendations! xoxo

  1. New Orleans is my vote! It’s so fun and it can be low key or super busy. The architecture is beautiful too!

  2. I vote New Orleans too! It will be hot for sure, so it depends on your physical needs. My husband would hate it, but I wouldn’t mind. Its gorgeous for adults, and if I remember correctly from my childhood, has an aquarium and zoo? Henry would likely love the streetcar. 🙂

  3. New Orleans will definitely be very hot and humid. But, the zoo, aquarium, and insectarium are awesome! Not sure how the kids would do with the weather though. Hawaii would be great as well. A little less humid, and at least there’s a beach or most likely a pool somewhere to cool off in. New Orleans would be hard pressed to find a pool. Not a lot of places have them because of gators. Haha.

  4. We loved when we went on our Alaskan Cruise. There were not so many little ones on our cruise ( I went pregnant with Ethan), but the ones were there got a lot of love from all the retired folks. They love babies! Aaron and I thinking of taking the kids on a cruise later this year as well, or an all inclusive. we are also looking at one of the kid-friendly Beaches Resort type places. A friend took her kiddos and loved it.

  5. I would vote against New Orleans in August personally. Sounds like a truly hot mess! Alaskan cruise sounds amazing but maybe for kids when they’re a bit older. Hawaii for me!

    1. That’s what I was thinking too! And I also had just read Rachel’s post about the cruise — and died laughing. You win some, you lose some! Haha!
