I grew up on a farm in California, in a house that was nestled in among acres and acres of orchards. If they weren’t orchards, they were fields, and if they weren’t fields, they were dirt roads… You get the picture. Suffice it to say, I grew up where it was very leafy and green, and that’s the way I like it.
In NYC, leafy and green is the exception. Here, the rule is square and cement, so any time I come across something leafy and green, I’m extra thankful. Out one of the windows in the new apartment, across the airshaft, is a perfect little specimen toward which I send my gratitude today. This guy decided to change colors recently, and he put on quite a show for those of us with windows facing this particular airshaft.
So today, I’m thankful for this little snippet of nature in an exceedingly un-natural city. What are you thankful for? xoxo
