Is Santa making his way to your place this year? Chances are he’ll need a little help, so if you’re on the hunt for some more stocking stuffers, I’ve totally got you covered. Uncommon Goods has a pretty major selection and a little bit of something for everyone. I love browsing through their gift sections, especially around the holidays.
In case you’re unfamiliar, Uncommon Goods is based in Brooklyn, and curates a collection of really unique, cool pieces. About half of what they sell is handmade, and one of their missions is to provide a platform for artists and creatives to share their work. Even better, they strive to keep a large portion of their collection made from upcycled or recycled materials, and I love that they’re also trying to make a positive impact on the world in that way. All in all, it’s pretty rad.
They recently sent over one of my favorite pieces that they carry — the state dish towels! I’ve been eyeing them for months now, and they’re even cooler in person than the photos. They’ve got an illustrated little collage of images for each state, along with detailed touches like embroidery and hand-dyed rickrack. We got the California and the New York towels, and it’s so fun to have a representation of the two states that feel like home to us. (I love the little sea lion on the CA towel and Babe Ruth on the NY!)
I keep going back through the Uncommon Goods pages and pinning more fun stuff! If you’re doing your holiday shopping you probably can’t go wrong just taking a peek through their online shop (a little online shopping never hurt anybody…) with a few friends in mind. There are some really cool personalized gifts here, and a pretty great selection of gifts for women here, in case you need to drop any hints for a clueless husband or boyfriend. Don’t deny it. We’ve all been there.
And if you have an out-of-state person to buy for, I love the idea of sending them these sweet little towels! They’ve got all 50 states, along with some countries and cities. How fun is that? I’m pretty sure Santa would approve. xoxo
