the wonder wheel

Here’s what I know about Coney Island:  it’s about as far away as you can get from my house by subway, it’s empty in October, and it’s deliciously tacky.  All of these things made for an awesome adventure with Mr. Lovely last weekend.

One of the things on my 30 by 30 was to head to Coney and ride the Wonder Wheel, which I had never done before!  It just seemed like something I should be able to say that I’ve done, as a good New Yorker.  The Wonder Wheel was built in 1920, and is as gaudy and gorgeous as ever.  I loved it, and let me just say — Coney is awesome in the fall.

In other news, I tried on my first batch of wedding dresses today!  It’s a little terrifying and a little fun.  But mum’s the word on what I’ve found until I decide on the dress…  Which I think is just around the corner.

Also, keep an eye out tomorrow for a feature on Mr. Lovely’s birthday cupcakes, made by yours truly!  Spoiler alert:  they’re surfer-themed.  🙂

And don’t forget to head over to Funk on a String and take advantage of your Lovely Indeed reader discount!  Amy’s offering some amazing deals, and the code “Lovely” is only good through tomorrow!  Until next time, lovelies.
