When a new Museum of Ice Cream opens an hour away from you, you GO. The San Francisco Museum of Ice Cream stood up to its predecessor in Los Angeles, and maybe even packed a little more of a punch! We took the kids and met some friends there last weekend to get our sugar high on.
Lots of people have asked if it’s exactly the same as the LA location. It’s got a lot of the same concepts but executed in an entirely new way. New tactile experiences, different sweets, new little surprises around every corner. As an example: in LA there was a gummy bear room with giant gummy bears to pose with and fresh gummy bears to eat. In SF there’s a rock candy cave and someone spinning fresh glitter cotton candy. They both have a sprinkle pool but the designs are different. So if you’ve already been to one Museum of Ice Cream, it’s definitely worth going to another location if you enjoyed the experience. That magical little unicorn hugging Henry in the next picture, by the way, is one of his best buddies. We were snapping photos and they decided to hug and from our angle it looked like a full-on smooch session! We were dying laughing.
The one thing I did notice at the SF location was that the music was really loud! Is that crazy?! Haha! I totally felt like a grandma when I came out and my ears were ringing and I was complaining about the noise. Bahahaha! It didn’t seem to bother the kids though — they were just happy to have pounded ice cream and cotton candy.
In any case, if you have the chance to grab a ticket, do it! xoxo
