Ten Things: Proud

proud

A couple of weekends ago, I had the pleasure of attending Freutcamp. Leah from Freutcake put together a jam-packed bootcamp for bloggers and creatives and I came away pretty inspired. One of her speakers was talking to us about creating our brands, standing behind them, and not being afraid to claim all of your hard work. She called it putting on your “Kanye West Thinking Cap,” which I thought was hysterical. If there was ever a dude who wasn’t afraid to be proud, it’s Kanye.

Now, I actually have a really hard time tooting my own horn, but I had to do a reality check recently because I was almost finding myself ignoring a few major milestones. So in the humblest way possible, a few things that I’m currently proud of:

1. Chelsey and I decided to write an ebook and we did it.
2. Just beat a really hard Candy Crush level.
3. Pitched a crazy idea to a big brand recently and they went for it.
4. Finally made appointments for some annoying dental work.
5. Our apartment is clean, after weeks of being buried in DIY rubble.
6. I’m working hard to have a clear idea of a path for Lovely Indeed, and the path looks awesome.
7. Pushing outside of my comfort zone in a zillion ways.
8. Being there for friends and family when they need help.
9. Not letting myself get taken advantage of.
10. I can finally (mostly) drive around LA without opening my maps app.

What about you? I’m serious — I would love to hear something that you’re really proud of right now. And I’ll give you a big ol’ virtual high five. Have a great weekend! xoxo

  1. hah loved your 10! esp beating that candy crush level.. they can get pretty tough!
I have only one in my mind, so proud of me staying up until 3 am and working! hah i usually sleep from 10 pm and couldn’t ever thing this could happen 🙂

    1. Uggghhhh you should have seen me afterward. The right side of my face was numb and I was starving. Have you ever attempted to eat grapes with a numb face? Not cute.

  2. The thing I’m most proud of? Having the guts to leave my job and return to school to get 2 diplomas in 9 months! I never thought I would have the courage to get out of my confort zone on so many levels at the same time! (Actually, it totally freaked me out many times!)

But I would never have been able to do so without the support of my boyfriend and my family. I’m proud of myself and extremely grateful at the same time. When I went to my graduation, it was a little like if everyone around me got a tiny bit of my diplomas 🙂

  3. I’m so proud that I went back to school and am pursuing something I love. I’m also dang proud that I stuck to my budget and saving, resisting unneeded Target sprees. (:

Proud of your accomplishments too, you inspire me to go after what I want and doing it.

    1. Resisting to Target sprees… That’s isn’t easy at all!(especially when you have to go there and get out with ONLY the things that are on your list) 🙂

  4. Really great idea, so important to be proud of each accomplishment! I think for me one thing to be proud of would be just a few months ago taking the decision to start my own blog and sticking to it, even if sometimes was a bit hard, I just can’t imagine right now being without it.

  5. I love the lists that you post, they make me stop and think about those fun and happy things! At this moment, I am proud that I have been stretching everyday so that eventually I will be able to do the splits…possibly. I am also proud that I have (and am still slightly in the process of) planning for the holidays so that they are as jolly as can be this year. Hooray for achievements!

  6. I’m SO happy we sat together at Freutcamp and have gotten to get to know each other! You are a total rockstar and have so many things to toot your horn about! Congrats on everything, and can’t wait to see what else you have in store for the blog! (PS Emailing you right meow!)

  7. Great list, especially the part with Candy Crush! I gave up at level 70 or something… 😉
Currently I am really proud (and very thankful as well) that I’ve been in a happy relationship for almost seven years now. A lot of couples around me are falling apart right now and that made me think a lot about how lucky I am.

  8. Awesome list! I totally gave up on Candy Crush, womp womp. I’m really proud that we have renovating approximately 70% of our house- only 30% to go! We have torn down walls and moved plumbing and rewired lights all by ourselves and no one has gotten crushed under rubble or drowned or electrocuted…pretty awesome! 🙂

  9. This is nice. You have inspired me and I don’t mean that lightly. I never in my life thought blogging could be so personal, but it has to me.
As for me and my pride:
    1. that I started my own business earlier this year
    2. that I just had my 18 year anniversary with a lovely husband of my own that supports everything I do (even the crazy stuff)
    3. that I just got my 10th follower on my blog (it’s the little things)
    4. that I came up with a more focused plan for my business to begin implementing next week
    5. down 50 lbs since last year!

Thanks for making me look at those accomplishments!
