Slow Down // 4

Thanksgiving

How’s the Slow Down been going for you? (Check out posts One, Two, and Three to catch up if you missed it.) Hoping that you’re headed into Thanksgiving tomorrow with a light heart (and an empty stomach). ūüėČ Since we’re probably all headed out the door to get to a big turkey celebration with the people we love, I just thought it might be nice to check in with one more Slow Down idea.

I know we all think about the things that we’re thankful for this week. It makes your heart feel extra big to step back and look for the good, and remember all of the things that we have to be grateful for. This year, I’m going to try to take it just a little farther and express that gratitude. So if there’s someone you have that makes you feel extra thankful,¬†tell them. Just slow down and take a sec and tell them. It could be a friend, a family member, somebody online, your cat, or your grocery bagger. I guarantee it’ll make their day. How would you feel if someone took a second to appreciate you?

Speaking of which —¬†thank you. Thank you so much for continuing to come back here and hang out with me and create this super cool community. I’m grateful for the chance to connect with every single one of you, and I mean that sincerely. The more we connect, the more worthwhile my job is. So I hope you have a beautiful holiday, and we’ll see you back here Friday for lots more holiday cheer. xoxo

  1. I’m Canadian, so we’ve already been thankful for the year. That’s how that works, right? Ha ha! Just kidding. It’s another good reminder to be grateful for everything you have.

But I actually had a question! That beautiful photograph. Did you take that one? And I love the vintage look! It exactly something I’m looking for for our living room! Will this be available in your shop? If not, can you make it available? Or as a download in the shop? Either way, I would love to have it! It’s just perfect.

    Thank you!

  2. Yes! This is so important! I’ve been trying to be intentional with this all year (I think I remember someone mentioning expressing gratitude as a New Years resolution?). Even simple things, like telling that girl in line at the grocery store that you think her hair is rad instead of just thinking it. I can’t believe the difference it has made in my OWN attitude and heart.

Much much much love to you.
