Real Talk

Well phooey. I had this great DIY idea to share with you guys today and it was one of those projects that I just kept trying and trying and it kept not working and not working and finally I just tossed up my hands and decided to talk about something else. Because a DIY whatever is just not worth going insane. So there.

I know I’m sharing about my pregnancy over on Momtastic, but you guys won’t mind if I talk about it a bit here too, will ya? See the thing is, I’m having a heck of a time focusing. It used to be that I could check off a whole to-do list in a day, and now if the day goes by and I accomplish one thinI consider it a success. I just am having troubles getting everything aligned at once to get something done — I have to have a good idea, then energy to do it, then focus to complete it, and it’s rare that I find those three things at once right now.

Add to the mix that we’re looking for a home to rent so we have a little extra room for baby, which is simultaneously great fun and really discouraging. We found the perfect little spot and someone else snapped it up, so we’re spending most days combing rental sites, driving and looking for signs, and viewing homes. Good vibes on the rental home front would be much appreciated. We’re keeping the faith that the exact right home will pop up and we’ll be the perfect candidates.

Now that I’m moving into my second trimester I’m hoping that the clouds in my head will clear and I can get some good stuff done. In the meantime, I’m just trying to be cool to myself and not get all freaked out. People have babies all the time, right? I’m pretty sure this is totally normal. (Question mark?) I keep hearing from all the moms I know to take this time to relax whenever I can, because after baby is here it’ll be a whole different ball game. So I’m trying to remember that and balance it all out.

Sooooo, now that I’ve written a blog post about approximately nothing, I’ll let you get on with your day. Real talk, though — I always appreciate you guys and this place I have to overshare every once in a while. Hope you all have a beautiful Thursday! xoxo

  1. Let your self relax and rest – sound like a great idea to me. Its hard to let some things go that used to be a priority but I would definitely take their advice and just enjoy enjoy enjoy!

  2. every woman, pregnancy, heck every CHILD is different. my baby made me become more organized, and now i can get more things done in his 90 minute nap than i could in a day BB (before baby). if you were doing that anyway, chances are your time organization and to-do lists will only get better! <3

  3. I love you talking about your pregnancy here! I’m just getting out of my first trimester too (with twins – whaaaaat) so I know exactly how you feel. You’re right, this is all completely normal. See every single person around you every single day? Yup, they all came from a pregnant woman so it’s all about as normal as breathing 😉

  4. Oh girl. This is all-too-familiar!!! Pregnancy just does NOT work with us DIY bloggers, now does it?!?!

I finally gave up and just set off to get ONE thing accomplished each day. And that was even a difficult task!!! Hugs & kisses to you, mama!!!
