I know the whole food truck thing is so trendy right now, but I gotta say — I love it. It’s such an easy way to try all kinds of different foods, especially when the trucks are all gathered in one place. On the Lot LA is a traveling smorgasboard of varying trucks that set up all over the city on different evenings. Monday nights they are in Los Feliz, so a couple of weeks ago we headed over to see what was there!
You can check their Twitter feed to find out what trucks are participating on a particular evening, and Mr. Lovely was pretty stoked on the hot dogs from Tokyo Doggie Style so we had to try the Hoagie. I stole most of it from him because it was beyond good. He also got an order of takoyaki — deep fried balls of octopus. Not gonna lie, they were a little fishy for me. You can’t win ’em all. But the lychee lemonade is not to be passed up! I got a few Vietnamese tacos from Mandoline Grill, which were also amazing — perfect summer food.
But the grand finale was from Chunk-n-Chip: peanut butter ice cream and white chocolate ice cream sandwiched between hot chocolate chip cookies. It was rude how good that thing was.
Needless to say, we’ll be back for our favorites and for some new trucks too! Will we see ya there? Let’s have a food truck date. xoxo
