Morning, Lovelies! Let’s get right down to business. Mr. Lovely and searched high and low for a cool place to hold our rehearsal dinner in Sacramento recently, and at the end of a very unsuccessful day, we accidentally wandered into Cafeteria 15L. We walked in, and immediately wanted to move in!
This place is right up our alley – the décor is a funky mix of vintage and quirky industrial. The seating is half standard and half family style. The atmosphere is relaxed but it still feels upscale without being snobby. And they serve their lemonade in mason jars.
We wanted to make sure it could talk the talk and walk the walk, so we took my folks back to eat. Monday Munchies survey says: two thumbs way up! Mom had shrimp scampi (which according to her was lemony and delicious), Dad had salmon and lentils and ate every bite, Mr. Lovely chowed down on a pork chop, and I had one of my favorite meals of all time: grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was like a grown-up version of a classic childhood meal, and perfect on a cold evening.
So if you’re in the Sacramento area, stop in at Cafeteria 15L, even if it’s just for some appetizers and a drink (the drink menu is pretty extensive, and I’m eyeing the Fries Three Ways app for next time). Can’t wait to go back! Xoxo
