kuler colors

I’ve had a few folks ask about how I created the color palette for the wedding, so I thought I’d do a quick post on it!  There’s a pretty awesome website called Kuler, where you can play with colors all day long, to your heart’s content.  Just go to the website and register to create a user name.  Then you can click on “Create” to make your own color palettes.  The website can assist you with different color “rules:” complementary, monochromatic, shades, and so on.  Or, you can choose “Custom” and have complete freedom to choose any shades you like.  If you have a color scheme to pick out for a particular project, it is a super-useful tool!

If you’ve created an account, you can save the color schemes that you make, and they’ll always be there for you to come back and check out.  If you just need some inspiration and are wanting to browse, there are thousands of color palettes that others have created, and you can look through them all!

Here are some others that I was playing around with for various projects:

The possibilities are literally endless, and it’s so great to be able to organize all of your color ideas in one place!  Check it out, even if it’s just to play around in for a bit — it’s pretty fun.  🙂

xoxo

  3. Kels and Chelsea: If you have an iPhone, there’s a sweet app that uses the Kuler palettes and concept to pull colors out of photos you’ve taken with the phone…and you can browse palettes too…and then doodle with them IN VECTOR format so when you email it to yourself you can pull it into Adobe easily!
I’m sorry for totally geeking out just now…:)
