I’m so, so glad we decided to have some photos taken of Henry when he was super fresh. We debated, because, ya know, I have a camera and I could probably do it and blah blah. But sometimes when you’re the one who’s always taking the pictures you just want to sit back and relax and let someone else be behind the lens for a while. That, and I knew I wanted some photos of us as a family.
So we asked our new friend Scot Woodman if he would be willing to come take photos of us at home, just kind of hanging out. We didn’t want anything super styled or any big production. Just a normal day. And Scot knocked it out of the park. These photos feel just like us, and they feel just like those first days when we brought Henry home and would just hang out all day, staring at him and each other.
I have to tell you, I was kind of stressed out about the newborn photo shoot thing. What if he cried the whole time? What if he pooped everywhere? But Hankie was a champ (did I tell you we call him Hank sometimes?) and just fussed for a little bit at the end. We’re laughing in that photo below because he had started to cry and we were trying to just hide his face in my chest. Poor kid.
It’s kind of bonkers, because these were taken when he was three weeks old — he’s about seven weeks now and he looks enormous in my eyes. He’s still so new but it’s all relative, I suppose. I love that we’ll always have these snaps from when he was such a freshie. Hope you like the little peek at our little dude! xoxo
