help me decide: bedroom colors

Okay, lovelies, you and I have a mission.  As you know, I’m in the midst of making the new apartment into a home.  I’m trying to go room by room, but the reality is that everything is sort of happening all at once.  The latest and greatest decisions I’m making all revolve around color — one of my favorite topics!  So far, I’ve got a palette for the bathroom:

And a palette for the living room/kitchen area:

I know, they look a little bit “out there,” but they’re actually coming together!  I have a vision.  🙂  BUT!  I’m drawing a blank on the bedroom.  I want it to be comfy and calm but a little chic at the same time, with a sort of Anthropologie-inspired vibe.  It’s got an espresso-colored chest of drawers and nightstand, and a big wrought iron headboard with lots of swirls on it that my Dad made for me (one of the coolest things I own, by the way).  Maybe corals and greys?  Or an all netural/white pallete with golden accents?  I just don’t know!

So, inspire me!  I need your help, for realsies.  Toss out some suggestions.  Or go to Kuler and make a cool palette and send it my way.  And then we’ll all have a big fun party when it comes to life!  Thanks, lovelies — you’re all the best.  xoxo

  1. Deepish, marroonish thing with delicious greyish trim or so? Except not if you can see the light greens from it? Submit. 🙂

  3. i dig the coral and grey…maybe add accents of bright teal — like jonathan adler bright teal! The dark wood and wrought iron would keep the room grounded and cozy in the midst of all the brightness!

yes i know i’m obsessed! loving you!

  5. I tried to make a palette .. I DID make a palette, but it wouldn’t let me share it with you. Anyway, I think you should go with a green/blue kind of like the color on the side over here ————————-> along with the espresso colored furniture. Throw in some cream colored accents, and you’ll be be in relaxation heaven!

  7. The first thing that came to my mind was espresso and cream with gold/champagne accents, which is what I’m hoping to use in my future kitchen. Adding shades of coral would make it a little more fun, a little less formal! Touches of turquoise would also be gorgeous 🙂
