Happy Friday, friends! This week was spent throwing irons into fires. I’ve been rolling a few big ideas around in my head for so long, but I’m always chicken to press the Go button. I have all of this ambition but to be honest, sometimes I just like the pace of my life as it is — full but manageable. And all of these ambitions and ideas that I have will definitely make life busier and more stressful. But, hopefully also more fulfilling and exciting? Long story short, I pressed a few Go buttons this week and we have some exciting meetings coming up to start the very early stages of a few cool projects. I’m hoping we see them all come to fruition over the next year or so. I’m also hoping I’m not a crazy person for attacking them all at once. 😉
But in the immediate future, I see lots of Valentine’s Day sweets! We’re pulling two perfect projects from the archives so that you can get into your kitchen this weekend and whip them up. First up, my favorite cookies with a Valentine twist: Conversation Heart Sugar Cookies!
I loved making these and thinking up all of the little phrases to put on them. The classics are cute and all (“Smooch Me”), but I really love the mean ones. “Blech” might be my fave?! Haha! “Hard Pass” also makes me laugh every single time. You can get the cookie alphabet stamp that we used to make them right here.
Those are awesome if you’re feeling itchy to bake a little something, but if you want something that’s super fast with the instant gratification factor, the Conversation Heart Popcorn is probably your best bet. It’s fast and cute and delicious — the Valentine’s Day trifecta.
I love using pink chocolate for the popcorn, but you can go with any color or flavor you like — or even switch it up and do caramel or classic butter/salt. The key is just getting those conversation hearts mixed in there for a Valentine one-two punch.
Hope you try one of these this weekend for your Valentine, your Galentines, or just yourself! And if you test one of our recipes be sure to tag us with #TheLovelySquad on social so we can see and share. Have a great weekend!
