One of my favorite things about being here in SoCal is the flea marketing! The month we arrived, we hit a different flea every weekend. The Rosebowl was great, obviously, but some of my favorite finds were actually at the Melrose Trading Post. In one day, I found an ostrich feather headpiece, a vintage banjo, and this awesome golden flatware. And if that’s not a perfect group of flea market finds, I don’t know what is.
I just fell in love with this flatware, and when I talked the guy down to a few bucks for the lot I just couldn’t pass it up. It was a little tarnished but cleaned up beautifully. Now I just need a reason to use it!
So hit me with your ideas! What would you use some gorgeous gilded flatware for? Dinner party? Photo shoots? Just for funsies? xoxo
This reminded me of the spoon caddy we had in the Niagara Street apartment — we had SO MANY spoons!
What an awesome find! I’d use it everyday JUST for funsies!

Haha! For funsies sounds like the best idea.
Are the long spoons for milkshakes? I think so!x
Ooooh, milkshakes. You win.
I’d find a way to display them without losing the ability to use them for fun.
Awesome find! I would use them everyday! It’s no fun to have something that you love only to pull it out on special occasions. It’ll make every day a little special 🙂
That’s what it’s all about — putting a little special something into the everyday!
Love it! I say they are perfect for a dinner party! Great find!
Cool find!

I believe the long spoon is a cold drink spoon, iced tea, etc. Do you mean those don’t come with a set anymore? I remember when the gold flatware came out, but can’t remember the year. Early 70’s? Fun.
Amazing find. Those are beautiful.
gosh, i love the flea market. so many treasures. love your new flatware.
