engagement story, part i

So to understand our engagement stories, you’ll need a little bit of background info.  I had told Ryan that I didn’t want a traditional engagement ring – I wanted something delicate, a little funky, and a stone of a different color.  Being the darling guy that he is, he rolled all of those things into one, contacted Robin at Bittersweets, and came up with something pretty amazing.

He waited until we were in my hometown to do the deed, so we could be with my family.  We woke up early one morning and went for a walk to my favorite park, where he got down on one knee and popped the question.  I didn’t know what else to do, so I got right down on the ground with him and said yes!

The ring that Robin made was beautiful – the band and setting were cast from real twigs, so they look like very tiny branches.  And Ryan had chosen a citrine, because yellow is my favorite color.  He had chosen sight-unseen, so neither of us had seen the stone, and upon seeing it, we thought it might be a little too light.  So back to Robin we went, with a request to change the stone to a citrine that was a little more golden.

Before we get to the rest of the story (and there’s plenty!), here are a few other beauties from Bittersweets!  Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of our saga!  xoxo
