Dreaming of Wallpaper

I am so, so itchy to try some wallpaper in the new house. For some reason I’m scared to pull the trigger. Maybe because wallpaper kind of has a stigma about it of being outdated? But there are so many incredible, modern, super cool wallpapers out there these days! I went down the wallpaper rabbit hole recently on Milton & King and got to daydreaming about just going for it and papering a room or two. So I went even further down the rabbit hole and started thinking how I’d switch up the decor of a room in our house with some fab wallpaper.

I kind of fell in love with this Swiss Linen print paper —  it’s simple but so cool and adds a pop of my very favorite color. I’m also loving the faux textured look of it! I got to scheming about what it might look like in a couple of different rooms at home. Up first, the bathroom.

Wallpaper Bathroom

Swiss Linen Wallpaper. Geo Pendant Lamp. Lemonade Art Print. Pineapple Art Print. Jewelry Stand. Brass Paper Holder. Faceted Soap Dispenser. Textured Bath Towels.

Loving it with the bits of gold and the geometric vibe! I added some art prints to the mix for some extra color and a little bit of an organic feel to break up the geometry of it all. Dangit, this is making me want to wallpaper my little half bath ASAP.

Once I was on a roll, I had to see what it might look like in our living room. I added a few pieces that we already have, along with a few of my wish list-y type pieces. Turns out a little eclectic bohemian vibe goes great with the Swiss Linen too!

Wallpaper Living Room

Swiss Linen Wallpaper. Eye Pillow. Kilim Pillow. Sloan Chair. Globe. Lamp. Rug. Stripe Pillow. Chair Swing.

I’m loving the mixed up patterns, aren’t you? I can’t get enough of a good pattern these days. I feel like the simple color palette of the rug and throw pillows makes it so the patterns don’t overwhelm you. And I’m finally admitting to the world that I have wanted one of those swing chairs for my whole life. Good thing they’re so trendy right now.

So! Do you have wallpaper in your house? Would you ever paper a room or an accent wall? I’m inching closer and closer to it. I could totally see my bedroom in this. Or a kid’s room with this! Oh, the possibilities! xoxo

  1. My family is renting, and there is a rather ugly bathroom that I’d love to fix up. Wall paper seems like a great option, but I haven’t found the “perfect print ” yet.

  2. I love this! Take it from some one who lived through wallpaper in the nineties, be very careful about putting it in a bathroom that you use for showering. The steam will make the edges curl up after a time. A powder room would be perfect for it though. Other than that I say go for it, you might get sick of it in five years or so, but then you just remove it.

  3. Loving the yellow theme & that eye pillow is way cool. Wallpaper is a great way to spice up a room! :]
