diy valentine: twirly heart

Okay, friends, here’s the last of the grown-up Valentine extravaganza!  Today’s project is quick and easy, and just a little whimsical.

Grab some cardboard or cardstock, cut it into a 2 inch x 2 inch square, and glue some colored paper onto both sides.  I rounded my corners to give it a polished look.

Cut out a heart from a fabric or paper scrap, and glue it in the center of one side.  Flip the card vertically, and on the other side, draw an arrow as though it was piercing through the heart.

Then, pierce the card on either side horizontally, and use a needle to insert some thick thread or baker’s twine into each side.  Knot the thread.

You’re done!  When you twirl the strings super fast between your thumb and forefingers, the images should blur and become one!  Being the completely clueless photographer that I am, I had trouble capturing the image, but you get the idea:

Give one to your honey, make one with some kiddos, spread the twirly love all around!  xoxo
