They’re unexpected, a little silly, and a fun way to add a personal touch to your Easter egg decorating.

No-Dye Easter Egg Ideas

We actually have a treasure trove of Easter egg ideas that don’t use any egg dye at all, because most years I just don’t want to bother with it.

The dye can be messy and hard to prepare, and if you have young kids like I do, sometimes they’re just not quite coordinated enough to handle the dyeing process.

Projects like these typography design Easter eggs one can be customized or altered to your preference or to be age-appropriate if you’re trying it with kids. If you want to see lots more of our no-dye egg ideas, check out this list below.

Supplies You’ll Need

When you’re creating your typography design Easter eggs, start by looking to see what you already have in your craft stash!

I like the idea of using faux eggs so that you can store them away and bring them out year after year as decor or for egg hunts.

Materials

How to Make DIY Typography Easter Eggs

Let’s make some!

Make Time: 1 Hour (Plus Drying Time)

  1. Download the printable Typography Easter Egg file.
  2. f you’re working with real eggs, hard boil them and allow them to cool. If you’re working with faux eggs, obviously skip this step (unless you want to be the crazy person boiling fake eggs).
  3. Paint your eggs! You could technically dye them if you like, but I chose to paint these because I wanted really opaque, saturated colors. Just cover them with a coat or two of craft paint and let them dry thoroughly. It helps to have an egg carton handy as you’re painting them; lay them down on the carton and paint one side, then allow that side to dry and flip them over to paint the other side. Continue until you have the paint coverage that you like. You can also see our tutorial on spray painting Easter eggs if you want to test that out.
  4. Stick your letters onto your eggs! It helps quite a bit to use tweezers for placement if your letters are extra tiny. Press the letters into the eggs to be sure that they adhere thoroughly.

Alternate Idea If You Don’t Have a Cricut Machine

If you don’t have a Cricut machine to cut the stickers, never fear!

You can simply find some alphabet stickers and substitute those.

The reason I love using the Cricut for this particular project is that it gives you complete and total control over the look of your design for the Easter eggs. I wanted a very specific font in a very specific size.

But! If you’re not picky or if you find stickers that you like, they work just as well. Just color your eggs and then add stickers.

What To Do with Your Easter Eggs

Hide these dudes all over the yard and make your family hunt for them! Or just take pictures and Instagram the pants off ’em.

If you used faux eggs, you can store them away and bring them out year after year to display or hide. So fun!

I love displaying these DIY typography Easter eggs in a fun bowl or dish, tucked in with some other Easter decor. But no matter where you put these cuties, you’re pretty much gonna win at Easter. xoxo

    1. Hi Katherine! I’ve never found letters exactly like these, which is why I decided to create my own. You could probably head to a craft store and check out the sticker or scrapbooking section to find something similar!
