Bonus points if use use dry ice because duh. Or just stack ’em up in their neat little test tube holders and pass them around on a tray as people mix and mingle. These are so fun!

If you want to make a set of your own, read on!  I love the glass vial test tubes in this kit, and it’s perfect because once Halloween is over you can repurpose them to be little vases or something else fun. They’re just too cool. They’d be perfect throughout the fall and winter as little mini bouquet holders for place cards at your holiday tables. I can picture them all lined up in a row with a single pretty bloom in each test tube. Let’s make them!

Materials

Make Time: 2 Hours

Step 1: Use a 5/8 inch drill bit to drill a hole halfway through the wood block. Be sure that you drill directly into the center of the top of the cube, and drill directly downward (not at an angle).

Step 2: Sand the outer edge of the drilled hole to smooth it out.

Step 3: Use a piece of washi tape to mask off the top half of one side of the cube at an angle. Paint the unmasked portion of the bottom of the cube.

Step 4: Remove the tape. Place another piece of tape on the next side of the cube, starting where the previous side left off and at an opposite angle. Paint the lower portion of this side as well.
Step 5: Continue with the remaining two sides until all four sides are painted.
Step 6: Allow all paint to dry and insert your test tube shot glasses.
Step 7: Fill your glasses for your Halloween celebrations and enjoy!
These are too fun! If you’re using dry ice, just use an icepick or knife to break off pieces that are small enough to fit into the mouth of the vials and then drop the dry ice in just before you serve to really keep the dry ice fog going. Cheers! xoxo
