Do you make resolutions? I love making a few goals for the New Year, and if you do too, I’m about to help you out. We all start out with the best intentions, right? And then as January wears into February, sometimes we forget what we even were so adamant about resolving to do in the New Year. So! How about we wear a pretty little reminder to keep us headed in the right direction? I had some handmade beads left over from this project a while back and I think what we have right here is the perfect use for them.
Make Time: 30 Minutes (Plus Drying Time)
Step 1: Make your beads. You can use the instructions from this post; if you’re using air dry clay, you’ll just allow them to air dry instead of baking them. Make one bead for each of your New Year’s resolutions. Mix up shapes and sizes for fun!
Step 2: Once the beads are dry, string them onto the eye pin.
Step 3: Clip off the excess of the eye pin. Leave enough to grab with your pliers and twist into a circle (mirror the circle on the other end of the pin).
Step 4: Measure a length of chain about the size of your wrist or a bit tighter. Open a jump ring with the pliers and use it to connect a length of chain to the lobster clasp.
Step 5: Use the pliers to open a link in the center of the chain and connect the link to one of the circles on the eye pin.
Step 6: Connect the other half of the chain to the other side of the eye pin.
Step 7: Finish by adding another jump ring to the open end of the chain, so that the lobster hook can be inserted through the jump ring to close the bracelet.
Wrap that thing around your wrist and let it remind you what you’re working towards this year! I think it’s such a rad little reminder, and even a fun conversation starter. So — how many beads would be on your bracelet? xoxo
