diy peacock hair clip

Happy Friday, lovelies!  Thought I’d pop this one up before I run out to dinner with some buddies.  My fourth and final entry in Ruffled’s DIY contest — here she is!

I got two peacock feathers, trimmed them, and glued them onto a hair clip.  I had a scrap of a lovely deep sea blue-colored fabric, and cut out a few small circles.  The fabric was synthetic, so I took a lighter to the edges of each circle and heated them so they curled up a bit.  I stacked the circles, sewed them together in the center with clear thread, and then sewed some beads in the center as well.  I glued this onto the clip near the flowers, and had my beautiful friend Jackie come over to model it for me!

Super easy, super cute!  You should try it.  🙂

And that’s it for me on this rainy Friday evening!  Don’t forget to use your reader discount over at Funk on a String if you feel like doing some online shopping!  And if all goes well over the weekend, I’ll be able to cross something pretty fun off of my 30 by 30 list — tune in Monday to see which one it is!  Have a lovely weekend, all.

xoxo
