diy get well card

Well kids, the tour has left NYC and we’re teching the show here in snowy York, PA.  We all arrived safe and sound, but we’re already one cast member down — Kirsten, one of our amazing ensemble women, has been under the weather and I went on for her in rehearsal yesterday while she was visiting the doctor.  I came home last night, feeling kinda bummed out for her state of illness, and decided to try to brighten her day with a little DIY get well card!

I had some cardstock that came as packaging in a makeup bag I just got, so I used that as a base, and cut it to a rectangle about 3 x 6 inches.  I folded it in half and covered it with some happy yellow fabric I brought along, then glued on a little cardstock rectangle with the sentiment “feel better.”  I took some embroidery thread, punched a hole in the back of the card, and knotted it through.  Then I cut little notches out on the front of the card for the thread to wrap around and hold the card closed.

Ta-daa!  A happy little get well card that took no time at all.  Feel better, Kirsten!  xoxo
