34 Weeks Pregnant

Guys guys guys. Things are getting close to the end over here, and it seems pretty surreal. The fact that there’s going to be a little teeny baby in our house in a handful of weeks is kind of overwhelming and exciting and if I’m being real, scary. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m ready, and how in the world can you be?! No, I’m not ready. I still feel like a newbie at this whole pregnancy thing in general. But ready or not, he’s coming soon and we will just do what I’m pretty sure every one else does, which is make it up as you go along. Right? I have enough healthy fear of the important things, so I keep envisioning the fun and wonderful parts to keep myself excited — the tiny baby toes and all that jazz. And in the meantime, here’s how things are going. Have a great weekend! xoxo

WEEK 34.

EATING frequently. Because all food is good food right now.

DRINKING hot tea because OMG the temperature dipped below 80 degrees and I’m pretending it’s really fall!

READING about sleep schedules, feeding schedules, and how to not ruin your child. (Even though I think there are a million ways to do things right.)

WANTING to bounce right back to my pre-pregnancy body and bracing myself for the inevitable fact that that will probably not be happening.

SLEEPING awkwardly. There’s this charming new thing that’s happening where my hands fall asleep while I doze, which is the opposite of comfortable.

WEARING my Minnetonka moccs because they’re flexible and my feet are a little large these days.

FEELING shocked that I’m 34 weeks pregnant. Time just flies. Trying to treasure it, even in the uncomfortable moments.

LOVING washing and folding baby clothes, arranging diapers, and generally making little guy a space.

P.S. See more Baby Stuff right here!

  1. I’m so very happy for you! Enjoy this quiet time with yourself and hubby. Pregnancy goes by so super quick. It’s crazy, right? And to answer your question, nope, there is absolutely nothing you can do to actually prepare you for this adventure because your baby, and every baby, will not go by any book. He will have his own personality so you have to go with it and learn as you go. One piece of advice that no one told me: get lots & lots of nursing tops and bras and nursing pads for leaking (if you plan on bf’ing) because you will not have time to shop for quite some time. Oh, and take all the free stuff in the hospital even if you think you won’t use it. It always comes in handy. Best of luck!
