Baby Boy’s Nursery Inspiration

| | | |

I’m so pumped to share this little inspiration board with you today — Mr. Lovely and I have had such a blast putting together ideas for the little guy’s room. We really want it to be a place that we like to hang out (because chances are we’ll be spending a good amount of time in there), and for it to feel like a baby’s room without being cheesy or too babylicious. So we decided to include some of our favorite things that we’ve done or made, along with functional pieces that keep the room happy and clean-looking.

We kind of think of the theme as a laid-back, midcentury adventure. I’d love the main furniture pieces have clean lines and simple silhouettes, and the accent pieces keep the room relaxed and feel like a day trip to somewhere fun. The initial inspiration for the whole room was that incredible photo of the yellow VW van taken by Mary Costa — she happened to catch that shot during our trip to Palm Springs for Meet/Make/Do and I begged her for a copy. Now it’ll be hanging in little guy’s room! I love that we get to include artwork from a sweet friend.

I also have to say, the majority of the stuff on this here little board is from The Land of Nod. I just can’t get enough! Their stuff is so gorgeous, and it feels right up our alley — kid friendly but still beautiful. It can be kind of hard to find baby stuff that is also lovely to look at, and Nod has been a great go-to for inspiration.

So excited to start putting things together and making a spot for little guy! See sources below for more info. Have a gorgeous day! xoxo

  1. I am loving this inspiration board that you have! When I finally move out of a rental apartment to my first home I am so excited to create inspiration boards for this space.

  2. I love your color palette and mood board! Our palette is very similar actually. Mint, gold, grey. I can’t wait to start buying things now that I have a direction.

  3. So cute! I love the inspo! I’m currently 23 weeks and starting to plan our nursery, too! The Land of Nod has such cute things, and I’m loving Pottery Barn Kids, too!
