A Little Announcement!

Baby Announcement

Ohhhhh SNAP we’re having another baby! You guys! It’s happening! I’ve been dying to share the news and now that we’re knocking on the second trimester’s door I’m so excited to tell all you lovelies! We are so, so excited and grateful to be on the baby train again, and to add another little Foy to the party. And in honor of all of the nosy questions you get when you’re pregnant, a little FAQ for you.

Was it planned? (Would you believe bunches of people actually ask this question?! Sheesh!) Yeah, we wanted another baby and we wanted the two kids to be pretty close in age. They’ll be 22 months apart, so it will be an adventure for sure.

Due date? September 30th. I went into labor with Henry on his due date, so I’m hoping this one can be equally as punctual. 😉

Boy or girl? Don’t know yet but we will be finding out. Mostly I just want another blessedly healthy tiny human. Although if I’m being perfectly honest, the idea of two little boy rugrats rolling around in the mud together sounds kind of amazing. At this point I wouldn’t even know what to do with a girl!

Does Henry know? He gets it, I think. When we ask him where the baby is, he points to my tummy. We’ve been showing him photos of when I was pregnant with him, explaining that mommies get big when they’re pregnant and that another little baby is growing in there right now. And telling him stuff about how much babies cry, and how he can be a good big brother. He’s still so little himself, but I know that he understands so much of what goes on around him. So we’re doing our best to prepare him.

How am I feeling? Uhhhhh, don’t ask. I have never been a fan of being pregnant – I just don’t like the feeling of not being in control of my body. Pregnancy is like temporarily renting out your insides to an alien with a penchant for rowdy parties. The first trimester last time was vaguely unpleasant; this time it’s been tough. I was really struggling with nausea (as in, unable to work/care for Henry/care for myself), so my doctor prescribed some anti-nausea meds. They have been a wonder and don’t make me feel perfect but certainly make it so that I can function. Suffice it to say I’m really pumped to be moving into the 2nd trimester, which is usually a sweet spot for feeling pretty good.

So friends, that’s what’s going on! We’ll be doing baby updates here and there; I’m really trying to make a conscious effort to celebrate this second baby as much as the first. So many times a second baby is like, “I’m pregnant! Anyway, what was the score of the game last night?” So we’re trying to give this little one its fair shake. 😉 Mostly, we are really just feeling incredibly blessed that this is happening again for us. I don’t know how we got so lucky but I sure am grateful. Stay tuned for more from babytown! xoxo

  3. Chelsea, What a blessing! I am so excited for you guys. Glad you are feeling better. Henry will be so excited when the baby comes. We had 2 names picked out when I had my second baby. We let my son who was 3 at the time choose the name for his new sister. It was between Hannah and Carly and he choose Hannah. Here’s to another wonderful adventure in parenthood. Pat S
