We took an impromptu trip to Malibu with some friends over the weekend for some breezy ocean air, seafood, and hiking. And it was beautiful.

I was so taken with the adventure of the day that I didn’t get my camera out much — especially at lunch. But suffice it to say, if you’re ever in Malibu you should hit up the Malibu Seafood Patio Cafe. The line might look long but they keep it moving. Scope out a table while you wait for your food and be ready to have your world rocked. The clam strips were crazy good and you should definitely try their summery sides — the coleslaw and potato salad felt fresh and light, not weighed down with a bunch of drippy sauce. So good.

We hiked around for a bit and I always forget how gorgeous the views are in Malibu! You can see so far on a clear day.

But my very fave was the few chilly moments we spent snapping photos on the beach. The color of the water that day was so perfect, and we caught the sun on its way down at the end of the day. Le sigh.

Ever been to Malibu? What’s your favorite spot? Matador is another really cool area! Would love to know your faves. xoxo

P.S. Mr. Lovely’s hair in that last photo cracks me up.

  1. I can’t remember what it was called…but we went to this awesome seafood restaurant in Malibu where you threw your peanut shells on the ground and they made your foil to go containers into animals. I’m going to search for it next time i’m in the area!

  3. I love Malibu Seafood! We live on the westside of LA and we make the trip to Malibu quite often, especially if we have guests over.
The squid steak sandwich is my favorite, and we always share the clam chowder in a bread bowl. We order a lobster if we feel fancy and the grilled shrimps to share. I agree on the cole slaw, it’s so good! As well as the fries.
Ugh, I want to go there for lunch today but it’s only been 3 days since I’ve been there. Oops! Haha!
