It happens every year. I see a leaf drop and immediately want to wear sweaters and have everything smell or taste like pumpkin. I’m trying to take it a little easier this year and let summer play out until it’s good and ready to go, but I still can’t help getting in the autumn spirit. This season I’m being drawn to some unusal things, though, and decided to put together a little mood board of what fall looks like in my current heart. Here’s what I love.
Knit. Buffalo. Pumpkins. Fox. Donuts. Paris. Rug. Basket.
This fall I want simplicity, unexpected colors, gentle music, quality over quantity, delicious small bites, nature at its best, comfort, and quiet. That’s what my fall’s going to look like. How about yours? xoxo

One of the worst things about living in LA is the lack of typical fall seasonal changes. Every time I go home during the fall, I’m shocked at the leaves and the weather, and I think, “oh! It’s fall!” Even though it’s already October.
I know! Maybe we should make our own fake fall. We can turn the AC up, drink chai lattes and wear scarves. And then walk outside and put our flip flops and sundresses back on…
Such a pretty inspiration board! I want those donuts and blue pumpkins…
Thanks Jess! It’s not a color palette that I usually think of for fall, but the icy blues and grays combined with gold is just nailing it for me this year! And I definitely think I’m going to try a batch of those donuts…
Oooooh, so pretty! Just looking at that board slowed the moment.
In Australia, it is not fall but spring ! But I love fall for the colors and the comfort.
