Although it’s been around for a while, last week I went to The High Line for the first time. The High Line is a stretch of park that’s built on an old elevated freight train line, and stretches for about 25 blocks above ground on Manhattan’s west side. Because it’s built on the old train rails, it’s super-skinny, but it’s perfect for a long walk on a beautiful day; and because it’s elevated, it’s got some pretty killer views. I loved it! I recommend starting at the north end, around 34th Street, and making your way down. That way, just when you need some sustenance, you can grab a Mexican hot chocolate at the La Newyorkina street cart, or a fried apple pie from the Melt Bakery cart, right around 15th Street. Here’s some of what we spied on our walk. xoxo

I just read an article about the High Line! It sounds awesome – wish I had known about it when I was in New York.
Put it on your list for next time!
Gorgeous photos! I actually still haven’t even walked the High Line either so it’s definitely on my to-do list!
What a delightful find . . . even seasoned New Yorkers find new places . . .
These are so lovely (indeed)
Oh, and THANK YOU for your sweet comment today – made my day so much brighter
