Mr. Lovely and I are back from the Hamptons, but I couldn’t resist sharing the second half of our trip with you! Check out a recap of the first half of our trip here; read on for more recommendations.
Firstly, I loved staying in Montauk and taking day drives to other areas. If you’re in Montauk, stay at the Sunrise Guest House for coziness, comfort, and across-the-street access to a gorgeous beach. Start your day with a quick beach run, and then hop in the car and head to East Hampton. Have lunch at The Golden Pear (the veggie sandwich with a side of slaw was perfect). Across the street at Scoop du Jour, split a famous Dreesen’s donut. It’s 90 cents and delicious. If you’re into that sort of thing. Then walk your lunch off while you do a little shopping.
After you’re shopped out, try the tour at the Jackson Pollack house. The grounds are amazing, and you can tour the home where Pollack lived and worked. Next, take the scenic route to Sag Harbor to toodle around. Grab dinner at LTBurger (try one of their specialty cocktails at happy hour, and get the fried pickles for an appetizer — oh my gosh).
The next morning on the way out of town, we decided that we couldn’t leave Montauk without going to Ditch Plains to watch the surfers for a while. And then because I couldn’t bear to leave, we stopped by Coopers Beach in South Hampton. Finally, on the way out of town, we stopped at Orlando’s for lunch again (because once just wasn’t enough).
I’m so grateful to have had such a gorgeous trip (and I get to cross it off the 30 by 32)! If you’re heading to the Hamptons this summer, I’d love to know your plans. xoxo
