This was one of those weeks where you accidentally spend all of your time in one place, and it was Los Feliz. For all of you LA peeps, isn’t it adorable there? We brunched at Square One (oh my gosh, the cactus breakfast burritos & grits!), found a new favorite bookshop, had a cast party at The Dresden, and explored Griffith Observatory. I think I love it there because it reminds me of certain parts of New York, but without all of the honking taxis and overflow of people. Do you have any faves in Los Feliz?

There also may or may not have been a holiday photo shoot in our apartment this week, complete with fake snow and mini Christmas trees. Keep an eye out for more on that, coming soon.

And while we didn’t party ’til the cows came home on Halloween, we did head to a costume party to hang with some friends for a bit. I just so happened to have the perfect dress and apron, so we went as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

Did you dress up? I’d love to know what your costumes were! I sort of can’t believe it’s already November, but I’m thrilled for it! And a little bit of news — Mr. Lovely and I will be on vacay in Mexico this coming week, but I’ll still be posting on a regular schedule, so come by and hang out! And when we’re back, we’ll have lots of travel tips and photos to share. In the meantime, I’ve got some crazy awesome links for your weekend. Have a great one, guys! xoxo

Emergency compliments.

Loving these illustrated maps.

Henry Thomas’ audition for Elliott in E.T.  This kid has some acting chops!

Branding the Presidents is some of the most inspiring design I’ve seen lately.

And finally, the feline pastime that’s sweeping the nation: Cat Bounce.

Phewph. This week the madness ended. I feel like we’ve been on a treadmill since about August, with something happening every weekend, trips all over the place, and people coming and going. It’s all been wonderful stuff, but kind of nonstop. So this week, we settled down. We’ve got one more weekend of performances for our show, and then it’s on to the next adventure. So for the next week or two, I’m slowing down to enjoy fall, focus on work, and get life organized again.

This week Mr. Lovely’s parents were in town for a bit and we hit the Fairfax Farmer’s Market. It was finally a gorgeous fall day and I was actually able to wear pants and a jacket at the same time without overheating! So in honor of that, a few fall faves.

Fall Favorites

Also, I just have to share this awesomeness with you:

Lovely Indeed Pumpkin

Tell me that’s not the coolest! Mr. Lovely and I put a combined 5 hours in on that pumpkin over a couple of days. That’s dedication, people. Have a great weekend! xoxo

This week we drove up to spend some time with family and take my niece to the pumpkin patch! I feel like I’m in the fall spirit more than ever this year — I’ve been baking like crazy, decorating, DIY-ing, and I’ve been to not one but two pumpkin farms. I’m like a little autumn tornado. How have you been celebrating fall?

Also, if you’re in need of some cool stuff to look at, Colossal’s blog is the place to be this week! Here are a few of their posts that blew my mind. Have a great weekend! xoxo

What Google’s data centers look like.

Ink clouds.

I’ve seen this before but I think it’s awesome every time.

We’re trying something new this week! Instead of a Friday Faves, we’re test driving a new little column that I call “This Week.” It’ll give you the rundown of my week in a few quick words, and then you can share your week in the comment section!  If you’d like to play along, just comment and fill in the blanks for each question:

I’d love to read your recaps, and I think it’ll be a cool way to get to know bits and pieces of each other’s lives. Let’s do it.  xoxo

Here it is!  The one year anniversary of Friday Faves!  It’s really crazy how time flies, isn’t it?  I’m not absolutely positive if I’m taking this column in a new direction or keeping it similar, but stay tuned on Fridays from here on out to see how it evolves.  And as always, feel free to weigh in with what you love.

Now!  Here are this week’s faves.  What were yours?  xoxo

Happy Friday, sweet things!  A random stream of consciousness for you:

I know that the font I used today is kind of hard to read.  It’s not meant to be used this way really, but I just bought it and I’m obsessed with it and it wanted to come out and play.  Also, next week is our one-year anniversary of Friday Favorites!  I’m thinking of doing a grand finale and then switching up our Friday ritual.  Whaddaya think?  Any other bright ideas of how we could wrap up every week?  It’s so nice to look back and take stock of the week (and to take some time to be grateful), but maybe there’s another way we could do it.  I’m open to suggestions!  Give me a great idea for a new Friday column and I’ll hop to it.

Now.  What were your faves this week?  xoxo

It was another whirlwind week with lots of travel!  We spent some gorgeous time in California and then hopped a flight back to our sweet little apartment in NYC.  This week was full of faves — almost too many to choose.  I’d love to know how your week was, and any little favorites that you found along the way.  It’s Friday!  xoxo

Well, good news — I survived the flight, and we’re in California! (I loved hearing your comments on that post, by the way!) In any case, California is green and beautiful right now and I’m just loving it. This weekend we’re heading to the LA area for a friend’s bridal shower and bachelorette party, so hopefully I’ll have some great photos to share with you next week. But until then, these are my faves. Did you have any favorites this week that were too good not to share? xoxo
