The Ace Hotel is one of those places that I see so much online I feel like I almost had been there already when I saw it in person. We were working with the awesome team from Minted to put together a little dinner during Meet/Make/Do, and when we saw that the Ace has what they call a “DIY Taco Bar,” we knew it was too good to pass up. We were pumped to have Minted on board to help us create a pretty, modern fiesta for the evening!

It was such a fun night — a make-your-own taco situation on the stargazing deck under the night sky felt so relaxed. So we wanted to use some of Minted’s pieces that had a similar relaxed, simple (yet beautiful!) vibe. We thought the ombre watercolor menu card would be a great place to start. The deep blues in the palette seemed just right, so we got the corresponding place cards and Kelly whipped them into some papel picado! How brilliant is that?

On the table, we wanted to continue the modern fiesta feel so we included some gorgeous florals interwoven with cacti. Kelly also made some great table confetti with Minted paper. (So cute!) I think my favorite thing was being able to include a print for each of our guests. We chose a few that we loved and included them in the place setting. The Nice Work print is like it came straight out of my heart. I loved watching people open the packages to see which print they got!

Another little touch that I loved was a tiny box full of Mexican candies! Have you ever had Mexican candy? I love it. It’s so super sweet and right up my alley (most of it, anyway). We put a few pieces in Minted’s kraft favor boxes and wrapped them up with an inky blue velvet ribbon. We also loved getting to use one of their killer photo backdrops during our celebrations! I think it’s so brilliant that they offer customizable backdrops that you can hang up and take down easily, and use again later.

It was a beautiful night and I want to do it all over again! Big thanks to Minted for helping us deck out our dinner. xoxo
