Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be overwhelming! Start with these simple and quick spring cleaning hacks to get your home feeling refreshed.

Spring Cleaning Hacks

I admit it! I’m neither June Cleaver nor Martha Stewart when it comes to keeping my house spotless. I definitely choose other priorities over having a pristine house, and that’s okay with me.

But I also acknowledge that feel best when the house is clean and tidy. It’s just better for my brain.

So I’ve been trying to streamline my cleaning routine, especially now that spring is rolling around and I have a major craving for a clean space.

Psst — I rounded up some of my other most popular organization and home posts, and I think you’re going to love them! Take a peek and pin your favorite ideas.

And enroll in my VIP group below! It’s totally free, and I’ll send my very best home ideas straight to ya.

Spring Cleaning Hacks to Make it Easy

My darling mother would probably be shocked to know that I haven’t actually vacuumed in weeks and sometimes instead of scrubbing a sink I use one of my secret weapons (which we’ll get into in a sec).

But you know what? It’s all good, because we have to make the most of the time that we have. So! If you’re in the same boat, read on for my favorite cleaning hacks and get your space clean in a jiffy.

Start with the Grime

If it’s gross, don’t ignore it. Sinks and toilets need cleaning, bottom line. So do the marks on my midcentury shell chair from the first time Henry used crayons, along with a zillion other little nooks and crannies around the house.

This, friends, is a job for my secret weapon – Magic Erasers. No joke, these are always stocked in my house. You can use them to scrub sinks, clean your shoes, wipe down appliances, and a whole bunch more.

They also happen to be the only thing that will clean my ceramic salt and pepper shakers. I always recommend trying a test patch before using a Magic Eraser on a new surface.

My other two go-to grime getters are Murphy’s Oil Soap and lemon essential oil. I find that these are both great options for surfaces where the Magic Eraser is too abrasive.

They’re both great for removing fingerprints from walls and cabinets, clearing away sticky residues, and more.

Get Things Tidy

If you don’t have time to really get in there and do the kind of deep spring cleaning where you empty out all the drawers and closets, I’m here to tell you: It’s okay. Just keep it tidy.

Make sure that everything has a place and put it away. It does wonders for your sanity when you’re in a tidy space.

When we were in the midst of the kids’ toddler years, no matter what you do the toys are strewn all over the house in about 5 minutes flat. But if you can at least start each day with your space cleaned up, you’re already ahead of the game.

You could try our cleaning checklist, or get your kids in on it with this cute chore chart.

Try a Lovely Scent

Ever walk into a house that just smells impossibly fresh? I love that! And I always want that to be my house. There’s something about a fresh scent that just makes things feel… cleaner.

My favorite trick is to toss some fresh lemon slices down the garbage disposal and run it for a few seconds. Boom! The kitchen smells lemony fresh and it’s all natural.

Add a Pretty Touch

Maybe it’s cheating, but a bouquet of pretty flowers goes a long way to make a room look so fresh and so clean-clean. Take a tidy room, put some fresh blooms on the table, and BAM you’ve upped your June Cleaver game by a mile.

It doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive, either — scour your yard for some pretty florals or foliage, pop it in a container, and you’re good to go.

So give it to me straight — are you a true spring cleaner, or will you be using a few of our secret tricks? If you’re knee-deep in sorting clothes and cleaning out closets, I salute you!

And for the rest of us just doing our best, hope these spring cleaning hacks help! xoxo
