our diy wedding invitation suite

November 10 2011 |

It’s fun to revisit some of the wedding hubbub now that the big day has passed!  I came across a set of our wedding invitations recently while getting things put away, and thought I’d share them with you here.

Mr. Lovely and I were sorely tempted to have some awesome letterpress invites designed and printed up, but when it came down to it, we were more interested in designing them ourselves (and saving some money in the process!).  I shared our Save-the-Dates earlier this year; now you can check out the rest of the invitation suite.

Like our Save-the-Dates, we designed our invites on Photoshop and sent the design away to Vistaprint to be printed up and sent back to us.  When we got back all of the pieces, Mr. Lovely used the vintage Smith-Corona typewriter for addresses and our return address, typing them one by one.  We cut mulberry paper from Kate’s Paperie and wrapped it around the invitation pieces, tied with a bit of baker’s twine.  We used the King & Queen of Hearts postage stamp, and sent our invites on their merry way.  Take a closer look!  xoxo

  1. These are amazing! I also used Vistaprint to print my invites, deal of a lifetime! Did you design the map yourself also? I’ve been looking for one, but haven’t had any luck.
