Modern Easter Basket Alternatives

I have the best memories of hunting for Easter baskets with my sister when we were little! The Easter Bunny (AKA my sainted mother) would find the best hiding spots —  I’m pretty sure one year they were out in the barn on a stack of hay. That’s legit. I can’t wait to start playing Easter bunny for Henry, too! But for other friends and family, I like to give Easter treats in packaging that’s a little more modern. If your basket needs a makeover, try one of these rad Easter basket alternatives!

Go Shiny

These metallic bubble mailers are perfect for sending a bright Easter surprise through the mail, especially if it’s flat! My niece is super into stickers and paper these days, so I’m thinking I might give her a little something in one of these. Just pack your goodies in there with a little crinkle packing or some tissue paper and you’re good to go. Bonus points if you write the recipient’s name on the front in sequins!

Now You See It

I love the idea of giving pretty candies in see-through containers. These gold tins with clear tops are perfect for housing all kinds of treats, so stack a few up and give a rainbow of goodies.

Go Bow Crazy

Bow, schmow — wrap up an Easter gift with a smorgasboard of fun materials. Metallic cord and mini tassels should be a pretty good place to start. Use a container with an unexpected shape, like these bentwood boxes, and go to town with your fun extras until it’s plenty festive. We made these little cascading tassels by attaching individual tassels to the box, each with a small glue dot. Then wrap some wired cord or ribbon around a few fingers, spread to create a pretty tangle, and attach it to the top with a larger glue dot.

When In Doubt, Gold it Out

Pretty sure these gold bar boxes don’t need much jazzing up — they’re beyond cool all by themselves. Wrap individual gifts in each box and hand over a stack of gold bars instead of your usual Easter basket. Guaranteed win!

And now the important stuff — what are you gonna put inside?! I used to wait on pins and needles, hoping and hoping for a million jelly beans in my Easter basket. The Bunny never disappointed. Happy Easter! xoxo
